About
As an optimist, I crave opportunities to excite people about their potential and engage them in realizing their aspirations. I posses a positive attitude toward change and the future, as well as dedication to my community and its service agencies. Becoming a mother has given me a broader scope of the potential within our youth and the importance of directing their impressionable energy toward respect for all, self-actualization, and contributing to their community. This role has taught me dedication, patience, and a commitment to remaining positive throughout life. Professionally, I have benefited from working with and in the nonprofit sector. Agencies such as the Gilead House, Kokomo RESCUE Mission, Transition Resources, YWCA Family Intervention Center, and College Mentors for Kids! Inc. have already afforded me opportunities to work with at-risk and/or disadvantaged youth. I have fulfilled roles within these agencies from PR/Marketing Assistant to Fund Raising Liaison to Activities/Outreach Coordinator to Client Facilitator. These roles have equipped me with many valuable skills. Advocating and counseling for clients was intergal to many of my professional experiences. Having a bachelors in Communication Arts has established a strong background for counseling. Focusing on organizational and interpersonal communications developed my abilities in time management, planning to implementation strategies, confidentiality policies, problem solving, and leadership.
